Canon Singapore Announces Sponsorship of Singapore Sports Hub

Latest Founding Partner of Sports Hub continues to contribute to the community by supporting national sporting initiatives and helping athletes in their quest for sporting excellence.

SINGAPORE - Media OutReach - 22 DECEMBER, 2014 - Canon, the global leader in photographic and digital imaging solutions, has become the latest Founding Partner and Official Printing & Imaging Partner of the Singapore Sports Hub following the signing of a three-year agreement. With this big boost to the local sporting landscape, Canon Singapore (CSPL) hopes to create a fraternity of athletes, spectators and photographers that will help Singapore achieve its goals of becoming a truly sporting nation.

Under the terms of the agreement with the Singapore Sports Hub -- a deal facilitated by World Sport Group -- CSPL will receive branding, hospitality and signage rights in recognition for its sponsorship. CSPL's support will also extend to offering Sports Hub and its consortium members its print and document management*, as well as specialist outsourcing services**.

"This year Canon celebrates 35 years in Singapore," said Mr Kensaku Konishi, President and CEO, Canon Singapore Private Limited. "At Canon, we live and breathe kyosei, our corporate philosophy, which means a commitment to living and working together harmoniously for the common good. Sports bring out the best in people and play a key role in creating that harmony. Therefore, we continue to commit ourselves to bringing out the best in local sports and at the same time make great sporting events and facilities accessible to all Singaporeans."

Canon Singapore is an active patron of the sporting community. It recently announced that it has renewed its sponsorship agreement with SingaporeBowling for an additional two years. This came after a very successful partnership for the past six years during which SingaporeBowling achieved many significant competitive successes regionally and internationally.

"We are extremely thrilled to have Canon on board as a Founding Partner and Official Printing & Imaging Partner of the Singapore Sports Hub. As we work towards contributing to a vibrant sporting scene in Singapore, we see this partnership with Canon as a great fit based on our shared passion of making sports accessible to all Singaporeans," said Mr Philippe Collin-Delavaud, CEO, SportsHub Pte Ltd.

Contribution to the Community through Sports

In addition to supporting Singapore's sporting community, Canon has entered into this partnership as it is also in line with its corporate philosophy of kyosei.  Recognising the significance of kyosei, Canon has taken a broader definition to mean all people, regardless of race, religion or culture, harmoniously living and working together into the future.

Canon actively pursues kyosei in the communities in which it operates. This includes the promotion of sporting activities that contribute to the well-being of the community. In this instance, Canon hopes to continue to nurture and develop athletes in their quest for sporting excellence and to actively help the community live healthier lives through sports.
